meetings

The CQSA meets 6 times a year - generally on the fourth Friday* - in the months of January, March, May (AGM), June, September and November.
Note: * except where Easter falls on a meeting day, or the Monday following is a Public Holiday, when we will alternatively meet on the third Friday of the appropriate month.

Meetings are held over lunch and normally followed by a Speaker. We gather at 12:30 and sit down at 1:00pm. The meeting normally lasts until approximately 3:00pm. Our meetings provide a time to network, to discuss business, the industry and the professions.

At each meeting we have a Speaker, chosen to keep you informed about current industry specific topics. Recent topics have included:

  • Acting as a Professional Witness
  • The BCIS new Carbon Costing Data Resource
  • BIM - Building Information Modeling
  • IPMS and ICMS
  • NEC4
  • Fire Safety Regulation
  • How to Spot a Lie
  • The Impact of Delay
  • Adjudication
  • Payment Notices
  • 4D Project Programming
  • Contract Damages
  • Carbon Cost Estimating
  • Online Estimating
  • The Bribery Act
  • Capital Allowances

The venue for our Meetings is: The Farmer's Club, 3 Whitehall Court, London SW1A 2EL, which is to be found near Whitehall and close to Embankment Tube station and Charing Cross mainline station, in Central London - Click here for Location Map.

Meetings are charged to the members at £65 per seat; which covers the cost of an excellent two course Lunch, Wine and a Speaker.  Member's Guests are always welcome.

CQSA members use the meetings, both as a chance to network and to record Formal CPD activity as part of their professional commitment to Life Long Learning.

Meetings also create opportunities for members to invite professional colleagues and clients as guests to a gathering that educate and entertain all within a relatively informal environment.

The only rule, imposed by the Farmers Club, requires meeting attendees to be smartly dressed in a jacket and tie.
